Synopsis: Goodreads:

Roshanna O’Dare wakes up in her own home in shock when she discovers part of her memory is missing and her parents are dead… With no clues of any kind as to what happened to her parents, and no other close family, Roshanna must move to Texas, Austin, to live with her last living relative, Uncle Joe after the funeral. But this means leaving her best friend, Marissa Mason behind. That’s when she meets Bodhi Vincent, her uncle’s chauffeur, who seems to understand Roshanna in a way no one else has… Bodhi is her rock after the death of her parents and the longer she stays with her uncle, the closer they become. But before moving away, Roshanna was confronted with a shocking secret that Marissa had kept from her, a secret that changes how she sees life and the people in it-Marissa is a pure soul and her foster parents are soul drainers who need her pure energy to survive. More shockingly, her parents’ souls were stolen by their murderer. When Roshanna and Bodhi try and track down Marissa’s father, Leith Mason, in order to retrieve her parents’ souls back, they find themselves held hostage at gunpoint. Will Roshanna and Bodhi survive? Will she ever find her parents souls? Or will their souls be the next ones to be taken?

My Review:

I was so excited to hear my friend was becoming a Published Author! I knew she was working so hard on her book, but I had no idea how quickly she would take off! So I offered to review Stolen for her! Heck soul stealers was something I’d been writing a NaNoWriMo on myself! So I was very interested to see how things played out in Stolen!

The answer? Very well! For a debut novel, of course there are a few hiccups, but nothing with the plot! The plot was enjoyable and addictive. I think though I read it over a week, I read about 80% of it in about 2 nights! I really enjoyed it! I thought Shana and Bodhi, though a little rushed, were a cute couple and I always wanted to know where their relationship was going. I knew it would develop, I just didn’t know when! And of course knowing that it was the first in hopefully a series, I didn’t know if it would even happen in this book! But I’m happy with where their relationship went. I thought it suited them, and they each needed someone by their sides.

Some of it was convenient, which I won’t go into since it would be a spoiler, but I guess if you need to get a character in their somehow, why not use the ones you’ve already got? Like I said, it was a little rushed for me, but it was a debut novel, and this is something i’m sure Keren will get used to and adjust to with time!

Over all it was very enjoyable! I’m glad I had the chance to read it for her, and luckily even get mine signed! Because it has earned its place on my shelf, and I’m so very happy for Keren and her new career.
